Everyday there is something new and exciting for Peyton to see and do in his new world. I am back at work (unfortunately) and he goes to Mrs. Lauren's everyday. They go for walks, play in the swing, in the bouncy seat, read books, sing songs and have lots of tummy time.
Each night we sit and talk about his day.
This was Peyton's first 4th of July. In order to commemorate the occasion, we took him swimming for the first time. My friend Jen invited us over to swim in the pool at her place. We figured that we'd put him in the water but that he wouldn't like it and we wouldn't stay in for long. But he seemed pretty unphased by the whole thing. There was no resistance. There was no fussiness. Not a peep. He just seemed to like chewing on the handle of his floaty. I'd say our first swimming experience was pretty successful!
Peyton's working on his newest trick: Bouncing in the jumper all by himself! Ever since he was just a few days old, Peyton has liked to be bounced. Up and down, up and down, up and down. When my dad visited around the time when Peyton was about 5 1/2 weeks old, he spent just about the entire weekend bouncing up and down on a bouncy ball while holding Peyton. As soon as Gramps would try to stop bouncing, Peyton would start crying. But as long as he was bouncing, Peyton was happy. Now, he can bounce all by himself! We set up the jumper over the weekend, not sure if Peyton was ready for it, but he's taken to it quite well. He's figuring out how to bounce up and down pretty good on his own. And having a toy that he can put in his mouth while bouncing is just lagniappe.
The best part is that its at perfect Nellie height, so she tries to sneak in a few licks whenever she can.
